Seditionaries Vive le Rock

Vive le Rock
The Vive le Rock t-shirt is one of the most
iconic items of clothing produced in the punk era. This Westwood and McLaren design first
appeared in 1972 .It was redesigned in
1977 with instructions for making a Molotov
Cocktail and agit-prop slogans, to join the
seditionaries range. This design was
reproduced on t-shirts, vests, and long-
sleeve muslin shirts throughout the
seventies.

The design on the back is also printed on
the blend version.

Seditionaries The Killer Rocks On
Seditionaries Destroy
The Cowboys t-shirt was the cause of one
of the many police raids on McLaren's shop
Seditionaries and resulted in several of the Kings Road punks facing obscenity charges.
The design is in the style of artist Tom of
Finland. This is another t-shirt which
remains as controversial today as in 1977
when it was first printed.

The £9 version is old stock and printed
with plastic ink and has solid "DANCE" and
corrected spelling.

The Destroy design was most famously
worn throughout 1977 by Johnny Rotten
and features in many of the pictures of the
Sex Pistols from this period. Again this is
one of the classic 'seditionaries' designs
guaranteed to raise eyebrows, even now,
25 years on.

last design produced by seditionaries in
Autumn 1979. It features 'ransom-note'
style lettering cut out from magazines which
had become associated with punk. The
slogan reads 'Create hell and get away
with it' and 'we're the 1% who don't fit and
don't care'.

The God Save the Queen shirt was produced
to coincide with the queen's silver jubilee
celebrations in England. It features a portrait
of the queen with a safety pin through her lip
and the lyrics to the song which was banned
by the BBC and blacklisted by many record
shops. This is one of the original Seditionaries
designs which was on sale at 430 Kings Road
in McLaren and Westwood's shop.

This is old stock and printed with plastic ink.
